The video was a throwback from my last preparation for the NBA Manila 2019. Believe it or not, being ripped to shreds for a competition is the opposite of being healthy. This body composition comes with mental instability, missed out family and other social gatherings, injuries, sleep deprivation and so much more. Sad to say, it is not sustainable. –
Do not get me wrong, being on the extreme opposite spectrum is not any better than this, or maybe worse. As much as I wanted to keep this figure, I would rather choose to be on the ‘okay’ middle ground with a well-rounded physical, mental and social wellbeing. A state that I am able to play with my kids, enjoy a walk in the park without thinking of calories, be present in social gatherings, eat greasy popcorn over a good movie, extend my God given healing hands to my clients, etc.
Yes, it is fine to strive to look better, but feeling better is another level and should be a top priority, unfortunately it is not found on either side, but on the middle ground give or take a few.
