Hack Squat: one of my favorite leg machines to use for several reasons; First, it mimics the regular and Smith squats as to range of motion, a limitation of the leg press machine. Next, it is form restrictive like the Smith and leg press machine, not as refined when doing regular squats. Finally, it is also supportive especially of the back posture like the leg press machine, definitely not in Smith machine and regular squats. Basically all the good characteristics of the regular squat, Smith machine and leg press is in the hack squat machine. For this exercise, I did 4×8-12 sets each of the narrow and wide squat squats with 2/0/2 tempo.
