Standing glute kickback – We make do with what we have. In the absence of a standing glute machine, I utilized a standard seated leg press/calves machine to work on my glutes (not my best ASSet). Since the platform setting is high, it prevents me from assuming the standard-expected erect-back posture. I lean forward at a comfortable angle so as not to hyperextend my lower back. I keep my body and stance firm all throughout the movement supporting myself with the back rest of the machine. Since the glutes has fairly good distribution of slow and fast twitch muscle fibers by just a small percentage leaning towards the former, a good mix of higher and lower rep/sets would elucidate the desired results.
