Ipsilateral standing cable crunches – It’s a core exercise that allows me to play with the angles of my torso. It hits whatever areas I want. In this case, it was the ipsilateral abs, obliques, intercostals and serratus anterior. On the side I’m working on, I hike the hip, out stretch the leg and point the toes. I proceed to hollow my back and round my shoulders as I pull on the weights (imagine letter ‘C’ pose). Top is exposed not to show off, but feedback from the mirror really helps isolate certain areas of the abdominals.
Note: When doing abdominal exercises, I get a different feel when I pull the navel in as opposed to pulling in and up just below the navel. Either way, I do both ways.
