ELDERLY/PWD HOME EXERCISES PROGRAM(COVID 19): DAY SIXTEEN-COGNITIVE STIMULATION
I was not big into writing, I drew a lot when I was a kid and nothing more. I was away from home from 2007 until 2018(11 years). I opted to get those ‘hobonichi’ journals to document my days in the USA. My goal was to not miss up on my baby boy when he was born on 2013, I wanted him to know how much I miss him and how much I wanted to be with him every single time. Being able to read it in the future would make him aware of who I was when I was gone and why I was away for such a long time. I am currently using an application called ‘ommwriter’ on my computer to replace the ‘habonichi’s’ because I can’t find it anywhere here in the Philippines. I really like how the app blocks all the existing apps when it is open to prevent you from opening your social media or getting lost down the rabbit hole of the dark web. The subtle background themes and inspiring instrumentals are also a good addition to the app.
Anyway, writing is one way of maintaining your cognitive skills. It doesn’t have to be a journal. It maybe about food recipes, a funny/tragic life story, fiction, anything under the sun. Give a try.
