Twisted at the hips noticeable with the knees together-pointing on one side. I anchor both feet on at the bottom bar of the machine for stability. The movements begins with isometric abdominal contraction followed by the descend aiming to curl my torso at the same time bringing my chest forward. An ‘L-shaped’ movement pattern for me works better than the usual ’C-shaped’ approach. It is barely noticeable unless you pay attention to my chin nudging forward as I finish the curl. I try to stress the pump with a slight pause at the bottom coupled with additional isometric abdominal muscle contraction. This exercise isolates one side of the abdominals along with the obliques and serratus anterior. The straight abdominal curl is shown on the other video.
